The
WebRamp 700s VPN option provides an easy, affordable, and
secure means for businesses to connect all offices and partners
together. Using data encryption and the Internet, WebRamp
700s VPN provides secure communications between two or more
sites without incurring the expense of leased site-to-site
lines. When data is intended for the remote site, WebRamp
700s VPN automatically encrypts the data and sends it to the
remote site over the Internet, where it is automatically decrypted
and forwarded to the intended destination.
WebRamp
700s VPN can be used with other VPN products with the same
IPSec implementation, such as Check Point's FW-1. Encryption
methods include 56 bit Data Encryption Standard (DES) and
56 bit ARCFour (ARC4). WebRamp 700s VPN also features a special
"Simple Tunnel Mode," whereby and unencrypted tunnel can be
setup between remote sites to support applications not usually
supported by Firewalls.

Y2K
Compliance Statement |
| |
In
addition to stopping unauthorized users from accessing the secure
LAN, WebRamp 700s allows company management to determine which
Internet sites should be accessible. The network administrator
simply selects the categories of content to block, such as pornography,
intolerance or violence, and WebRamp 700s will automatically
block the sites that fall under those categories. WebRamp 700s
uses the highly regarded CyberNOT Filter List from Microsystems
Software, also used in products offered by distinguished organizations
such as America Online, AT&T, IBM, Microsoft, Netscape and The
Scholastic Network.

DHCP
Server |
| |
WebRamp
700s' DHCP server offers completely centralized management of
TCP/IP client settings, including IP address, gateway address,
DNS address, and more. Upon startup, each network client automatically
receives its TCP/IP settings from the DHCP Server.
|
 |
DHCP
Client |
| |
The
DHCP Client allows WebRamp 700s to acquire TCP/IP settings from
the ISP. This is ideal when the TCP/IP address is provided by
the ISP and this address may change from time to time, as is
the case with some xDSL or cable modem Internet accounts.

 |
Remote
Access Authentication |
| |
Users
can access Intranet resources on the private LAN by successfully
logging into WebRamp 700s from the Internet. Authentication
is established using an MD5-based encrypted security mechanism
|
 |
Optional
Intranet Support |
| |
WebRamp
700s allows Intranet firewalling by allowing the administrator
to restrict access to certain LAN resources. For example, protection
may be required for a company's accounting department against
unauthorized access by other users on the same network.
|
 |
Firewall
Security |
| |
WebRamp
700s uses stateful packet inspection to determine if a data
packet is allowed through the Firewall to the private LAN.
|
|
 |
Denial
of Service Attack Prevention |
| |
WebRamp
700s is pre-configured to automatically detect and thwart Denial
of Service (SoS) Attacks such as Ping of Death, SYN Flood, LAND
Attack, IP Spoofing, etc.
|
 |
Internet
Content Filtering |
| |
An
optional subscription to the customizable CyberNOT Filter List
is available. Automatic weekly updates make sure that access
restrictions to new and relocated sites are properly enforced.
WebRamp 700s also supports customization of the Filter List.
|
 |
Network
Address Translation (NAT) |
| |
NAT
translates multiple IP addresses on the private LAN to one public
address that is sent out to the Internet. NAT allows WebRamp
700s to be used with Internet accounts, such as xDSL or cable
modems, where only on IP address is provided by the service
provider.
|
 |
Web
Browser Management |
| |
WebRamp
700s is easily and securely configured and monitored through
a Web-based interface. Authentication is established using an
MD5-based encrypted security mechanism.
